Michigan to Indiana

This is a picture of the house that my mom grew up in, in Caro, Michigan.

This morning we slept in and had breakfast at Cracker Barrel. We drove from Battle Creek, MI (home of the cereal companies) to Remington Indiana. We are staying at a campground with a view of a lake, and the main highway :). My Uncle Don came out and got us and we went to see his house, which was built in 1848 and is beautifully furnished with many antiques that look like they could've been there since the beginning. We went to dinner with his friend Fae and him and then to see a place that Huell Howser would have a hay day with. It's this large piece of wooded property that is open for two weeks a year in the summer. There is a circle of cottages that have been built over the years since 1897. Every summer for two weeks there is a camp that people from all over the country come to. These cottages get passed down from generation to generation and in the rare occurrence that they do sell they go for about $60,000...to use for 2 weeks a year at the cost of $100 each summer. There is also a 100 year old hotel that is also only used for these two weeks. For those not fortunate enough to own a cottage there is also a space for RV's. I could share more but ask me if you want to know... It was good to see my Uncle Don and to meet his special friend Fae, unfortunately I forgot to take pictures!
We are falling asleep to lightning and thunder and tomorrow are off to Wisconsin to camp with friends on the Mississippi river (the Odmarks). Happy Trails.
